Me after InjuryAnother "interesting" weekend.

Spring is here and so is another season of the glorious Ararat F.C. Like every Sunday we meet bright and early at the field for our weekly game. I arrive late so I quickly get dressed and begin the game without any warmup. That must be the reason why in a few minutes we are down 2 - 0. We fight back and at the beginnning of the second half the game is tied at 2 - 2. The game is slowly going towards the end when I decide to intercept a free kick from the opposing keeper. And so I jump, I hit the ball only to find the forward's head after it.The result was a bloody (you can read it the British or the American way, up to you) cut just above the right eyebrow (as the picture shows -- sorry I didn't have time to remove the red-eye). I leave the field, put on a quick bandage and drive home where, with Elizabeth, we decide it's probably better to go to the ER. We arrive at the ER and in a reasonable time we get admitted and given 8 stitches -- to be removed in 5 days. We then go back home and given the obvious state of illness (!) I procede to lay on the couch for the remaining of the day.

At least, a positive side of the whole Sunday.
